There’s no more leisurely way to cross the blue Pacific than by cruise ship—most especially on a 15-night Princess® cruise to Hawaii, with your island time bookended by hassle-free days at sea.
From the moment we stepped aboard Princess Cruises®’ Grand Princess® at our close-to-home port of San Francisco, we felt the island vibe. Fellow passengers sported Hawaiian shirts. Staff members behind the purser’s desk wore flower leis. Tropical bouquets adorned lounges and bars.
Each night at dinner, we savored the flavors of Hawaii. Menu selections in the ship’s three main dining rooms included kalua pork, skewered mahi-mahi and grilled ono. Decadent desserts featured macadamia nuts and sweet, fresh pineapple.
It took four days at sea getting to the islands and five and a half to get back, but onboard activities took on Hawaiian themes. We created colorful leis from ribbons and orchids, danced the hula, attended Hawaiian food and language classes, and discovered fascinating facts about tropical flora and fauna. Other passengers went the musical route and took ukulele lessons.
