How To Get On the Most Disneyland® Park Rides

From the spinning teacups to the bobsleds speeding around the Matterhorn, Disneyland® Park rides and neighboring Disney California Adventure® Park provide nonstop thrills.

On a visit to the park, any family’s goal is undoubtedly to get on as many rides as possible; below, we provide some tips on how to pack in as much fun as possible. If you plan things right, you might get on Space Mountain 10 times!

Use Disney FASTPASS® Service

No need to wait in long lines for major attractions such as Haunted Mansion, Starcade Star Tours—The Adventures Continue and California Screamin’. At the Disney FASTPASS® Service machines at ride entrances, you can insert your admission ticket and receive a printed reservation with a one-hour window during which you can save your place in line. As soon as you enter the park, grab a FASTPASS® for the ride you want to go on the most. For a list of rides that offer FASTPASS® tickets, check the Disneyland® FASTPASS Service website.

AAA Members who book a vacation package with a Disneyland® Resort Hotel or Good Neighbor Hotel get up to a $150 Disney gift card from AAA.

Stay at a Disneyland® Resort Hotel

If you book a room at any of the three hotels of the Disneyland® Resort, you can show your room key to enjoy Extra Magic Hour entry into Disneyland® Park or Disney California Adventure® Park. You’ll get in one hour before the parks open to the public—and you can squeeze in multiple rides on favorite attractions. Find out designated days for each park at the Disneyland® website.

Go During the Off-Season

Many regular Disneyland® Resort parkgoers claim the park welcomes fewer visitors during certain times of the year because of weather and school schedules. There are several times during the year when guests can take advantage of historically lower attendance—mainly mid-January through mid-March (except for President’s Day weekend), mid-April through mid-May and mid-September through mid-November (except around Halloween). On weekends, Sundays are less crowded than Saturdays.

This nifty new resource helps you to get on rides faster with maps, schedules and attraction wait times. If your crew just finished the Matterhorn Bobsleds in Disneyland® Park and is thinking about hopping over to Disney California Adventure® Park for more roller coaster fun on California Screamin’, you can easily find out the wait time for that attraction before finalizing your plan.

Split Up

Don’t mind riding Indiana Jones™ Adventure with someone you don’t know? Your group can split up and hop in the Single Rider line for guests wishing to experience the attraction by themselves. You’ll bypass the standby queue and likely encounter a shorter wait time.
