Celebrity Infinity® and Celebrity Summit®, two ships from Celebrity Cruises®’ Millennium Class, will enjoy a series of exciting upgrades designed to elevate the modern luxury experience for guests.

Building on the popularity of its Lawn Club® venues, the cruise line is expanding its lineup of luxurious outdoor spaces with the addition of a new, multipurpose Rooftop Terrace. By day, the terrace will offer guests a relaxing open space. By night, the space is illuminated by decorative lighting, and it will show movies and feature other entertainment on its large screen and over its surround sound stereo system. Specially curated food options—inspired by the entertainment content, the destination or the occasion—will be available for purchase.

Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises®, said the aim was to “create a hot spot where guests can kick back under the stars in the middle of the ocean, with amazing entertainment and food.”

The Rooftop Terrace will be on the 12th deck of the Celebrity Infinity®, at the aft end. The space—the first of its kind in the Celebrity® fleet—will open Dec. 5, 2015. Celebrity Summit® will receive a similar Rooftop Terrace during its scheduled dry dock in March 2016.

As part of the $16 million improvement plan, every Penthouse and Royal suite on the two 2,100-passenger ships will receive new fixtures, marble surfaces, furniture, carpets, drapes and bed linens.

“We want these suites to be so luxurious and comfortable that it’s difficult for guests to leave at the end of their vacation,” Lutoff-Perlo said.

Dining at the Tuscan Grille

Two restaurants on the Celebrity® ships will also be converted into Tuscan Grilles, Celebrity®‘s signature Mediterranean-inspired steakhouse; S.S. United States on Celebrity Infinity®, and Normandie on Celebrity Summit®. The new restaurants’ menus will include fresh, house-made pasta; an Italian cocktail menu, a first for Tuscan Grille; a wine list stocked with Italian wines; and new foods like artisanal salumi and cheeses, crispy crab arancini, grilled branzino and oven-roasted USDA Prime dry-aged steaks.

Guests who are currently booked in the S.S. United States for sailings beginning Oct. 29 or later will be given the first opportunity to cancel their reservations to rebook in Tuscan Grille. Guests with reservations at the Normandie for sailings beginning Mar. 19, 2016, will have the same opportunity.

Both Celebrity® ships will also be upgraded with a new enclosed portrait studio and a refresh of the Solarium spa café.

Celebrity Infinity® enters dry dock on Oct. 15 and will emerge on Oct. 29. It’ll then sail several Panama Canal itineraries leading up to Dec. 5, when it will begin its South America season. An Alaska season follows, beginning in May 2016.

Celebrity Summit® will sail seven-night southern Caribbean itineraries this winter, both before and after it dry-docks from Feb. 27 to March 12, 2016. After dry dock, the ship heads to Cape Liberty, New Jersey, for a summer season of seven-night cruises to Bermuda.
