Most kids have grown up with the full cast of Disney characters. They’ve watched all the animated movies, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Frozen. They’ve memorized the songs, acted out the scenes and dressed up as the characters for Halloween. And then, one day, on a visit to Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, California, they travel into that enchanting world and meet Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Cinderella and their friends. The huge smile that crosses a child’s face when they shake floppy-eared Goofy’s hand is priceless. The magic comes alive, and the child is left speechless as mom and dad snap photos.

Disney Dining Experiences Full of Magic

You can find the characters throughout Disneyland® Park and neighboring Disney California Adventure® Park. But the resorts’ five character breakfasts, which offer the intimate experience of spending time with favorite Disney characters, are a unique opportunity not to be missed.

Travel Back in Time with Minnie Mouse

Step inside the lavish Victorian décor of the Plaza Inn, with its stained-glass ceiling and gingerbread woodwork, and you’ll be transported to 1955, when Disneyland® Park first opened. This classic setting is the perfect spot to enjoy the Minnie & Friends Breakfast, held daily until 11 a.m. The breakfast boasts a lavish buffet of made-to-order omelets, French toast, Mickey Mouse-shaped waffles, fresh fruit, pastries and more. Minnie Mouse and friends make a stop at each table.

Enjoy Table Service with Disney Princesses

If an under-the-sea experience with Ariel and her friends is on your wish list, you’ll love dining in Ariel’s Grotto in Disney California Adventure®. Generous platters are served family-style for breakfast or lunch as a procession of princesses circulates through the dining room, stopping at tables to pose for photos.

Catch the California Vibe with Mickey Mouse

Mickey Mouse, Goofy and the rest of the crew are dressed for the beach at the Surf’s Up! Breakfast at Paradise Pier Hotel. The surfboard décor exudes a pure California vibe, and the atmosphere is lively. Kids are invited to get up and dance along with the show. The buffet includes omelets, flatbreads from a wood-burning oven and signature chilaquiles.

Kick Back with Chip ‘n’ Dale

Unwind at the Chip ‘n’ Dale Critter Breakfast at Storytellers Café at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa, where you’ll find a quieter atmosphere. The buffet is bounteous, offering waffles, omelets and fresh fruit; and Chip, Dale and other forest friends casually stop by tables for souvenir photos and autographs.

Get Up and Groove with Goofy

Boisterous, silly fun is on the menu at Goofy’s Kitchen in the Disneyland® Hotel. Wearing a floppy chef’s hat, the beloved dog welcomes kids with a handshake and then brings on giggles when he doesn’t let go. Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet that includes peanut butter and jelly pizza and hand-carved meats, and kids are invited to run around with Goofy and his gang.

I love to suggest Italy and Spain because of the culture and the flair of the people–their fashions, language and way of life. They take time to enjoy life's pleasures. When you're there, you feel it, too.
