Peru is full of unmissable history and ruins, but no trip would be complete without sampling the amazing variety of produce and seafood. Combine the best of both worlds by mixing cooking classes, market visits and restaurants into your trip to Peru.

Days 1-2 / Lima
Arrive at Lima Airport and meet your English speaking guide and transfer to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring on your own. After breakfast, your guide will take you on an unforgettable culinary journey, beginning at a typical Peruvian market. Then, visit an exclusive restaurant where you’ll see a demonstration of how to prepare a pisco sour and ceviche—two Peruvian favorites. Enjoy a delicious lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure. In the evening, visit the remarkable Larco Museum, which boasts an impressive collection of treasures from ancient Peru.

Day 3 / Lima – Sacred Valley
Transfer to the airport for a short flight to Cuzco, then proceed to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Hacienda Sarapampa where the owners still produce the famous Giant Corn of the Andes. Enjoy a farm-to-table lunch before heading on to Ollantaytambo—an Inca military, religious and agricultural center built on a mountain summit. Your evening is at leisure to explore the village.

Day 4 / Sacred Valley
After breakfast, meet your guide for a trip to Piuray Lagoon and take your pick of stand up paddle boarding or kayaking for exploring the lagoon. Afterward, continue on to the Misminay community where the townspeople will greet you with music and dances. Alongside your hosts, prepare a delicious traditional dish using only local ingredients and enjoy them for lunch.

Days 5-6 / Sacred Valley — Machu Picchu
Transfer to the train station and board the Vistadome Train with a private local guide for your trip to Machu Picchu—one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World. After an exhilarating visit, return to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing at your hotel or soaking in one of the warm medicinal pools before enjoying Peruvian specialties at dinner. In the morning, there’s an  optional second visit to the archeological complex on your own. In the afternoon, board the train back to Ollanta and transfer to Cuzco. Indulge in a luxurious wine and cheese tasting at a local restaurant. Explore the nearby sites before dinner on your own.

Days 7-8 / Cuzco
Meet your guide for a walking tour of Cuzco and learn about the coexistence of the Andean and Spanish cultures. See historic colonial building that compose some of the most beautiful and captivating scenery in Peru. After lunch, learn all the steps to make chocolate, from harvesting the cacao to the production of a chocolate bar. After breakfast in the morning, meet your driver for your transfer to Cuzco Airport.
